Most motherboards have special functions that are unknown or forgotten their owners. On the other hand functions very attractive to use. Here are some of functions intended.

IrDA bus: most of the motherboards on the market has a connector on the main board to the bus IrDA (Infrared Developers Association) which allows wireless connection (wireless) between PCs and peripherals equipped with an infrared sensor (infrared), some printers and notebooks. To take advantage of this bus, you must install the adapter in the existing IrDA connector on the motherboard that unfortunately is not included with the motherboard.

Additional USB port: ATX motherboards are usually equipped with 2 USB ports on the back. Some motherboards have more USB, but not in the rear position. Exactly in the middle of the mother-board. To use these additional ports, we need to install the adapter plug to change the format used by the motherboard to plug the USB standard format, to enable us to install a USB peripheral port was added. Generally the motherboard is not equipped adapter.

Suspend to RAM (STR): we can configure the PC so that can store information of all components of the RAM and switched off all components except RAM. The results of RAM the motherboard will turn only, while all other components turned off. In this case, power consumption by PC only 5W.

The advantage is clear. When turned on, the PC will be in the same condition when turned off, and the program displays the same document that was opened previously. We can even program the PC to run multiple tasks while the PC is “sleeping”. Some motherboards have a connector that allows installation STR LED. LED lights will light up when the PC into the STR mode and off when the PC dies.

Wake Up On LAN (WOL): This facility allows the computer turned on via LAN (local area network). Facility allows administrators to remotely turn on your PC via network, make improvements on and off again when done. This improvement even automated to facilitate the work administrator. Without this facility, the administrator must turn on and off client / server manually. To run this facility, the network board to support this facility, as usual motherboard. Network board and the motherboard must be connected via a small cable 3 is connected to the motherboard using a connector called WOL ‘Wake Up on Ring (WOR): Like WOL, this facility enables the computer turned on and off remotely via a telephone line. Therefore, we can turn, access, and turn off the computer that were located very far away. To run the service, both the modem board and the motherboard must support WOL and the modem must be connected to the motherboard through a pair of wires.

Mainboard connector is usually labeled Wake Up On Ring or such like. In addition, the modem must be connected to telephone lines and programmed to accept connections. We must also install software that allows computers to access out, such as Windows 98 Dial-Up Server.

Of course we all already know what it monitors. Monitor is one of the most important components of a PC where we can see the image which is processed by a computer or, more accurately processed by the VGA. Currently, there are 3 types of monitors that are still outstanding are:

CRT (cathode Ray Tube)
If you are running many applications related to image, CRT monitors are the right choice. Technology CRT tube for most of the Shadow Mask. Shadow Mask is the technology of CRT monitors that use sheet metal with small metals to make shots more focused electrons into the phosphor layer. Monitor that uses Shadow Mask type tubes suitable for drawing a picture program, because it can render a straight line more accurately.

CDT (Flat CRT)
CRT technology is a flat screen. CDT uses Shadow Mask and Aperture Grille. Aperture grille monitor with a clean produce, free of distortion.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
This monitor is suitable for you is a lot to do with the text. With a monitor that can be played long and extends down to the side, it would be free to view documents and web pages with such a view area. In addition, the advantages of compact size and low radiation, LCD monitors to replace CRT monitors worth that now has become an easy tool today.

Users are advised to choose the specification of contrast and brightness levels when choosing a monitor. High brightness setting is not always true. Monitor with very high brightness level will result in poor contrast levels. In addition, the display technology used, users should always use a specific resolution, like 1024×768 or 1280×1024 to obtain optimal image sharpness.

We have run a game or watching a movie, you should pay attention to the response time. Low response time will cause the displacement track of fast moving objects visible on the screen. This is certainly not pleasant to look at. Currently conventional LCD monitor has a response time 25 ms. Monitor the mainstream-sized 17-inch or 19 inch usually has a response time better, which is 8 ms. There was even a monitor with 4ms response time or 1ms with a more expensive price.

Hardisk Partitioning (Disk Partitioning) is divided into several parts Hardisk, commonly referred to as Partition. In the windows operating system, usually starting with Drive C:, and could go to Z:. With increasing size of Notebook, the Notebook is better at the partition into several parts.

What are the benefits we had Hardisk partition? Here’s more.

The purpose of Hardisk partition:

    * Separating the files and operating system data or documents. Although could be one, but with separated will be safer and easier settings.
* As a place for Virtual Memory operating System. Like for example on Linux

* Keeping the location of the program used data close to each other. This is in addition to accelerating execution of the program is also more efficient.
* Used to boot the operating system or run more than one, such as Windows XP, Windowx 7, Linux, Mac OS X and others.
* Protecting or separate files for easy recovery of data when the system is damaged. Because if one partition is broken, the other partitions will not be affected so that the data can still be on the save.
* Improve overall performance (performance) on the computer file system there a little more efficient system. For example the type of file system is NTFS (the default Windows XP, 2003, Vista and Windows 7), large size of Notebook will have a Master File Table (MFT) that greater access time is longer than smaller MFT.

To how the division of hard drive, can read my previous article Setting Tips division (partition) Hard disk

disk-map

Master File Table (MFT) is a location that stores various attributes of files, directories and other information about the file system is NTFS so-called Metafiles. The various attributes are known as metadata. Attributes that can be stored various kinds, such as for example: file name, file location, size and licensing files.

Some free software that can be used to partition the Hardisk of Other Easeus Partition Manager, Partition Wizard Home Edition, GParted and others. Also see your hard drive Paragon Manager 8.5

The presence of Apple iMac since ten years ago until now continue to inspire manufacturers to design a PC with the look and compact construction. Sony for example, recently introduced VGC-JS1E, all-in-one PCs are slim. Like the iMac, all the components integrated into a single PC with LCD screen. Views like this are very suitable for those who covet brevity for placement the PC in the room that’s not too broad.

Sony VGC-JS1E offer several color choices including silver. In the package, Sony has included both the mouse and matching keyboard design with the LCD. Although still relying on a cable connection, mouse and keyboard quality is fairly adequate.

Keyboard designed slim with a separate keypad similar construction as usual calculators used Sony Vaio notebook products. While the mouse was smaller than a standard mouse, but quite comfortable in the hand.

Sony VGC-JS1E has 20.1-inch wide screen with the screen resolution is only 1680 x 1050 pixels. Clearly, the PC is very good at showing a graphical display, but not good enough when displaying HD video. Very convenient to graphic designer.

PC Dimension 487 x 408 x 157mm This performance relies on a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz, 3Gb RAM and graphics card Intel GMA X4500HD. Store media capacity provides spacious enough, 500GB, which allows you don’t need frequently to transfer data to the hard drive or additional storage.

Sony also has to complete this PC with a DVD writer, 1.3 megapixel webcam, card reader, mini-FireWire port, Ethernet connector, HDMI, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Many features are provided which will greatly help your needs.
